Opening Data Manager in Capacity Planner displays an error when using Non-English regional settings
Details
- When attempting to open the Data Manager, an error occurs.
- A dialog appears stating that MDAC 2.71 or above is required .Note: This error appears despite the fact that MDAC 2.71 or higher is installed.
- A database error from MSJET is seen containing a syntax error.
- You see one or more of the following errors:
- ERROR: An unexpected error occurred!

Solution
Set the "Standards and formats" setting to "English (United States)" in "Regional and Language Settings" while the Collector service is stopped.
To make this configuration change:
- Click Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services.
- Find the service "VMware Capacity Planner Service" and ensure that the Status is Stopped.
- Open the Regional and Language Options from the Control Panel.
- Click Regional Options. Select English (United States) from Standards and formats.
- Return to the Services window and start the VMware Capacity Planner Service.
